Biography

Originally from South Dakota, Samantha Colburn started performing at a very early age in musical theatre. She went on to star in such roles as Maria in The Sound of Music and Rosie in Bye, Bye, Birdie as well as being a top ten finalist at the National Forensic League‘s National Speech Tournament.

Samantha went to receive degrees in acting, music and journalism from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she won best actress awards two years in a row and starred in roles such as Janet in The Rocky Horror Show and Gwendolyn in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. After graduation she spent a year on stage with the renowned Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.

Since moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career in film, Samantha has appeared in a multitude of national commercials and in such films as Cannes Film Festival selection Cessation with the talented Dennis Haysbert and South By Southwest (SXSW) film festival favorite Out of Nowhere.

She made her television debut as Dr. Marta Torrez opposite Hugh Laurie on House M.D. and more recently was seen guest starring on Criminal Minds and NCIS. She has also appeared with Kristen Bell and Don Cheadle on Showtime’s House of Lies, on ABC Family’s Jane by Design with Andie MacDowell and The CW’s Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson.

Currently, Samantha can be seen in the films Best Night Ever, Crazy Bitches & Electric Slide. She is also a series regular for season 2 of The CW’s P.E.T. Squad Files and starring in the upcoming feature film The Storyteller.
